Water and Light Exhibition, Norham

This evening I attended the private view for the Water and Light exhibition in Norham.

My abstract seascape, Old and New Haven, is featured alongside some stunning work from a variety of artists. The collection has been curated and staged beautifully within the space of the village hall, which was flooded with dreamy summer light whilst the John Elliot Duo played soft jazz in the background.

Old and New Haven was created mostly using my hands to apply the paint onto the canvas. I find this helps me embody the piece, to feel as if I were diving inside the painting and inhabiting my own world full of distant horizons and big, sweeping skies.

I love that you can stare at this painting for hours and always find something new of interest and intrigue, getting lost in the tiny details or larger mass of colour.

As you can see from these photos, I like to go on a journey with my paintings - figuratively and literally! Here we are on the Isle of Arran off the west coast of Scotland last year and another snap of her on the journey down on the train.

A red seat (and a red carpet) for this diva…

As well as this painting, I also have some cards and postcards available to purchase over the weekend.

The Water and Light exhibition is showing in Norham village hall between the following times:

10am - 5pm on Fri 24th, Sat 25th and Sun 26th June 2022

10am - 1pm on Mon 27th June 2022

Thank you to all at Norham Arts Group for your support and setting up the exhibition.
