I started painting in my late twenties when I was looking for a new creative outlet and one to help me relax and unwind.
What I found was a whole new world full of colour and wonder…
My work deals with the energy and emotions of the natural world around us, the identities we attach to certain landscapes and how they change from day to day, through the seasons and over the years.
I’m intrigued by how we experience the world around us, what keeps us coming back to the same spots time and time again.

Palette knife painting - Loxley Arts
I translate the atmosphere of these places using wild brushstrokes, repeated mark making and by dripping paint onto the canvas. A lot of time, energy and soul lives in every piece.
I hope my paintings offer you some calm - perhaps a moment of escape or presence, whatever you need at the time.
As well as my landscape and abstract paintings on canvas, you can buy A4 art prints and bright and colourful abstract greeting cards for all occasions.
When I’m not painting, I enjoy soaking up the energy of the land and sea, running, cycling and hill walking (when the Scottish weather allows), writing poetry and trying to keep my plants alive.
