TONIGHT: Charming Auld Reekie print launch

The sun is shining, the birds are singing and I’m adding a hint of magic to my prints this afternoon before tonight’s very exciting launch!

After a year of painting many small works in my Charming Auld Reekie series and with months of deliberating over paper thickness, finishes and seam colour, I have selected nine paintings from the collection which have been reproduced as A6 postcard sized prints (105 x 148 mm) and printed on 600gsm archival quality paper.

On top of that, I’ve added my own special finishing touch to make every print unique – a hint of iridescent paint on each one to make it shimmer as it catches the light.

The original artworks in the Charming Auld Reekie collection are finger painted in white, orange and blue tones and are based on the various landscapes in and around Edinburgh.

Some are more abstract than others and are not always based on one location at a particular time but of many memories and experiences from the changing seasons in Holyrood Park, sunset at Portobello beach or a panoramic view of Edinburgh from the Pentland hills, following the path of the travelling sun.

I’m really happy with these prints and I hope you are too. They are available from 8pm this evening in the print section of my website or Etsy shop.
